Finca San Luis situated in Tolima has been in the Arango Tinoco family for over three decades, and under Omar’s management for half of that time. Finca San Luis became an organic farm when Omar deemed that the price of fertilisers outweighed the effect on his production, following a Broca outbreak that affected large swathes of the country.
The farm is planted with several varieties, including this Geisha along with Typica; Bourbon, and Caturra lots. Coffee grows under shade trees fixing nitrogen in the soil and also providing cover for the trees to develop out of direct sunlight. A lack of chemicals can limit the production of a farm, but Omar believes that the decision will continue to provide high-quality production and improved quality for the lots at Finca San Luis.
Tasting notes of pink grapefruit, Guava, Caramel, and Tim tam biscuits.
