Acetenango

This 110-hectare farmland is extremely lush with dense shaded forest.  Employing 50 full time staff, they also produce Avocados.  The Acatenango volcano is the third highest peak in Central America with the farm sitting at around 2000 masl.  The neighboring Vulcan de Fuego erupted in June 2018 causing extensive damage to surrounding villages and land.  7 different varietals are farmed and processed as separate lots, using all three different processing methods.  This Maragoype varietal is honey processed, they do not use pesticides or herbicides, and the coffee plants are naturally fertilized with organic coffee pulp and earthworms.

This beautiful white honey processed microlot from Guatemala La Hermosa is a limited edition to our coffee stable. Prepared as an espresso it is a beautifully rounded, smooth, medium bodied coffee with notes of orange peel, dark chocolate and sweet ripe Fig. If you are brewing this coffee you will notice the orange notes become more peach like, the dark chocolate moves more towards melted brown sugar or caramel and the finish on both options, is a long, lingering honey flavor.
