RAW GALLERY WALL "PSYCHEDELIC SURREALISM"

by Duaa Sidi on Jan 27, 2023
<B>RAW GALLERY WALL "PSYCHEDELIC SURREALISM"</B>
  1. Adeela Omer

Birthed out of intense shadow work in 2020, Mired in Madness is one of my three symbolic representations and aspects of the madness that resides within.

This oil on canvas is part of an extensive and probably lifelong "Shadow Work" series. She is one of my creations birthed through intensive shadow work in 2020 and is symbolic of my inner madness and wisdom. The title is taken from the following excerpt from The Red Book by Carl Jung:

Be silent and listen: have you recognized your madness and do you admit it? Have you noticed that all your foundations are completely mired in madness? Do you not want to recognize your madness and welcome it in a friendly manner? You wanted to accept everything. So accept madness too. Let the light of your madness shine, and it will suddenly dawn on you. Madness is not to be despised and not to be feared, but instead, you should give it life...If you want to find paths, you should also not spurn madness, since it makes up such a great part of your nature...Be glad that you can recognize it, for you will thus avoid becoming its victim. Madness is a special form of the spirit and clings to all teachings and philosophies, but even more to daily life, since life itself is full of craziness and at the bottom utterly illogical. Man strives toward reason only so that he can make rules for himself. Life itself has no rules. That is its mystery and its unknown law. What you call knowledge is an attempt to impose something comprehensible on life.”

There’s a mountain inside each of us - It is a mountain of one’s struggles through life. We are mistaken if we believe the struggles lie outside of us - but it is a mountain within us that we must climb that leads us to our awakening.

The untouchable truth is a symbolic representation of the ultimate truth of life that is realized and reached only WITHIN oneself. The truth is untouchable, but can only be touched without the need of touching it.

Morpheus is the Greek god of Sleep. To sleep is to be in the arms of Morpheus. Sleep is when we are most connected with the Universe.

“Caffeinated Woman”- a pop art portrait created to support the Caffeine and Women Movement initiative, created in a characteristic, unique style of Chócherko Art. Admired Woman just as good coffee can smell like leather, tobacco, and honeysuckle all at once, so love is a mixture of many emotions: infatuation, idealization, tenderness, desire, desire to protect and be protected, desire to enslave, brotherhood, friendship, admiration, and aesthetic satisfaction and thousands of others.

Framed Artwork was created by Chòcherko Art as a tribute to the legendary Wasilly Kandinsky credited as one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art. A female figure, hidden in a Kandinsky-inspired mosaic of shapes and lines, in expressive colors and shades, woven into an abstract anteater that steals her most intimate thoughts and desires. The painting also clearly evokes the famous motto of this great abstractionist and art theorist. “Colour is a power which directly influences the soul.”

Framed Chócherko’s painting entitled Warrior Woman has been featured in Graphic Art 2021, the latest autumn collection of Medicine – one of the leading Polish fashion brands. “Warrior Woman" from the "Inspired" collection is a painting that is a specific alter ego of Joanna. A woman on horseback, with a sword raised above her head, is a contemporary Joan of Arc, who once again has to show "holy" heroism. This time not in defense of the king, but in the name of the inalienable rights of women. " The Warrior Woman ”is a power of femininity that takes its origins from the legendary Lilith. In its artistic form, it is pure and creative inspiration from the painting of Jean-Michel Basquiat, his intense, expressive art that rubs against abstraction. Joanna intuitively feels art, its therapeutic and cathartic power. She carries it and knows when her artistic face should be shown to the world. And that's probably why the self-taught and New York underground Basquiat became her artistic guru.

The painting depicts the illusion that we are not alone whereas we are born alone live and die alone. Its the relation through love that creates illusion for the moment that we are not alone.

The Family – Dad, Mom and their two kids, similarly clothed and almost the same height, embodying solidarity, unity, and support. Each member of this family lifts the other, hold one another. The togetherness and harmony of their ideas and beliefs help them rise from despair to see the wonder, and the beauty in life itself.

Who am I?  I can wear many faces if I have to, but trust me, I’m the same person.  I can be whoever you want me to be; just tell me, and I will transform myself, because I am without myself. Is that what you really want?  Because if that is true, then I feel very sad for you.  Perhaps you are the one who needs to be attached to reality.  I am strong. I am whole.  I am....ME.
